      Bordallo Flora Dinner Plate Green

A dinner plate that earns its place at the table long before the food arrives.

The Bordallo Pinheiro Flora Dinner Plate is drawn from the Flora collection — a study in botanical elegance, with hand-rendered green foliage that trails across the earthenware surface in the manner of a garden in full leaf. It is the kind of piece that transforms an ordinary weeknight dinner into something worth laying the table for.

Handcrafted in Portugal by Bordallo Pinheiro, whose artisans have been shaping and glazing earthenware since 1884, each plate carries the subtle variation of the human hand. Mix with other Flora pieces for a considered tablescape, or pair with simple linens and candlelight to let the pattern speak for itself.

      Bordallo Pinheiro

The cabbage, fleshy and wrinkled, flattened in shape, could serve as a metaphor for the rusticity of Portugal, a country Bordallo satirized so often. It was a clever way of paying homage to it, placing it at the center of bourgeois tables, where, otherwise, it would not have been invited. And today, our cabbage is an essential element on any table and in any setting, admired by young and old alike, blooming in various colors: Green, White, and Pink!
