Bordallo Pinheiro Cabbage Plate 19cm | NZ
Description
This is the piece that starts a collection. The Bordallo Pinheiro Cabbage Plate is one of Portugal's most iconic ceramic designs — hand-finished in the original Caldas da Rainha factory using the same moulds Rafael Bordallo Pinheiro created in 1884. At 19cm, it's a perfect side plate, appetiser dish, or beautiful standalone addition to a French country table setting.
Made from lead-free earthenware and dishwasher safe, it's as practical as it is beautiful. Available in classic green, white, and pink. Villarosa Maison is one of the few boutiques in New Zealand stocking the full Bordallo Pinheiro range — buy it here and it arrives at your door anywhere in NZ.

Bordallo Pinheiro
The cabbage, fleshy and wrinkled, flattened in shape, could serve as a metaphor for the rusticity of Portugal, a country Bordallo satirized so often. It was a clever way of paying homage to it, placing it at the center of bourgeois tables, where, otherwise, it would not have been invited. And today, our cabbage is an essential element on any table and in any setting, admired by young and old alike, blooming in various colors: Green, White, and Pink!
