Few pieces command a table quite like Bordallo Pinheiro. The Woods Salad Bowl is a deep, generous form — 25cm across — hand-finished at the original Caldas da Rainha factory in Portugal, where the maison’s celebrated naturalist craft has been practised since 1884.
Whether presented at the centre of a summer table or used daily, it is the kind of piece that becomes part of the story of a home — treasured, passed on, and never quite replicated.

Bordallo Pinheiro
The cabbage, fleshy and wrinkled, flattened in shape, could serve as a metaphor for the rusticity of Portugal, a country Bordallo satirized so often. It was a clever way of paying homage to it, placing it at the center of bourgeois tables, where, otherwise, it would not have been invited. And today, our cabbage is an essential element on any table and in any setting, admired by young and old alike, blooming in various colors: Green, White, and Pink!
