Bordallo Pinheiro Cloudy Butterflies Wall Piece 29cm

A collaboration between two icons of craft and style, the Bordallo Pinheiro Cloudy Butterflies Wall Piece is the result of Claudia Schiffer's vision meeting the centuries-old artistry of Portugal's most celebrated ceramics atelier. Inspired by the English countryside and its fleeting natural beauty, Schiffer reimagines the butterfly through Bordallo Pinheiro's signature decorative naturalism — rendered in hand-painted earthenware with an abstract, painterly quality that sets it apart.

Designed to be displayed rather than used, this 29cm wall piece is a considered addition to any interior — equally at home against raw plaster, dark panelling, or a curated gallery wall.

      Bordallo Pinheiro

The cabbage, fleshy and wrinkled, flattened in shape, could serve as a metaphor for the rusticity of Portugal, a country Bordallo satirized so often. It was a clever way of paying homage to it, placing it at the center of bourgeois tables, where, otherwise, it would not have been invited. And today, our cabbage is an essential element on any table and in any setting, admired by young and old alike, blooming in various colors: Green, White, and Pink!
